Identify each material.
Lumber, drywall and bulky renovation debris are starting points for a construction-debris discussion. Furniture, appliances, fixtures, dense material and unusual contents need specific identification. This guide does not grant blanket acceptance for any category.
Keep these items out.
The published dumpster guidance excludes the following. Keep them separate and arrange an appropriate disposal route.
- Asphalt roofing material and shingles
- Whole used or scrap tires
- Liquids and paint cans
- Gases or compressed chemicals
- Hazardous and medical waste
- Carcasses
Concrete and dirt require a separate plan.
Use DW’s designated 16-yard option for concrete and dirt, then confirm the material-specific loading limit. Do not treat a larger container or the equipment maximum as approval for a heavy load.
Keep the top rail and pickup route clear.
Keep debris below the top rail and within any lower limit specified for the material. Maintain rear-door access and the truck collection route. Contact DW if the debris changes or you need more time. Transfer-station rules and rental terms are separate: acceptance at a yard does not authorize putting an item in your rental.
